NUDE LIPSTICK HAS been having a moment, what with the resurgence of 90s trends and the popularity of one Kylie Jenner.
You needn’t blow all your euros on Lip Kits to get the look, however – there are plenty of great options for under a tenner.
1. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm, €8
The Soft Matte Lip Creams are liquid lipsticks for people who hate liquid lipsticks. They’re soft and easy to work with, but the colour payoff is still there. Stockholm is a pale peachy nude, but there are a host of other shades to choose from.
2. Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Come Naturally, €2.89
This is a) a bargain and b) a bit different from what we usually think of as ‘nude’. See how it’s almost lavender? Nice.
3. Rimmel Kate Moss in 08, €7.49
This is lovely. It’s creamy and comfortable and not too pale – just a perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade.
4. Wet’n'Wild Megalast in Bare It All, €2.99
A true nude very similar to Mac’s far pricier Velvet Teddy. If it’s a bit too pale for you, the shades Rosebud (rosy pink) and Spiked With Rum (rosy brown) are also very pretty.
5. Catrice Ultimate Colour in In A Rose Garden, €4.49
It’s not all about mattes, you know! This creamy dusky pink from Catrice is perfect for everyday wear.
6. Seventeen Stay Pout in Just A Fling, €5.99
This classic nude lipstick (long wearing but with shea butter to keep the lips moisturised) is just begging to be paired with a smokey eye.
7. NYX Liquid Suede in Soft Spoken, €9
NYX are big players in the lipstick game these days. This is a touch on the brown side, making it a very 90s choice - and a great a dupe for Kat Von D’s cult shade, Lolita.
8. Rimmel Provocalips in Make Your Move, €8.99
We’ve pooh-poohed claims of 16 hour wear in the past, but this stuff seriously DOES NOT BUDGE. The balm/gloss on the other end keeps things nice and comfy, however.
9. Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit, €7
Psst. This is a dupe for Kylie’s Candy K Lip Kit. And at €7? It’s a steal.
10. Lidl Cien Lipstick in Nude Brown, €2.49
Yep, even Lidl is in on the trend – and their Nude Brown is surprisingly fetching on. Get involved.
